Mopeds

Every night on the news, there are reports about the rising cost of oil and a major concern is about the plan to at least bring the cost of oil under control, if not down to previous lows. On the other side of things, there is a rising concern about global warming and the impact we are having on the earth,  which affects not only our own quality of life, but the animals and plants that keep our ecosystem healthy. On yet the other side, we have our own needs and realities. Some cities simply do not have a good public transportation system. Some people do not have the option to move closer to their place of employment. Others don’t have any real way to carpool or do a ridesharing plan. Everybody is under a huge amount of pressure to cut the use of gas and minimize their carbon footprint on the earth, and yet, there doesn’t always seem to be a feasible solution. That is why more and more Americans are copying their European and Asian counterparts and looking to other modes of transportation that don’t cost as much money and don’t require as much fuel. Mopeds.

Mopeds are not miniature motor scooters or motorcycles. In fact, they have a completely separate history from motor scooters and motorcycles, and they evolved on a different path. Now mopeds are linked, conflated, and often confused with motor scooters. In some cases, they even look like miniature versions of popular motor scooter models, but that’s not technically an accurate view of what mopeds are and where they came from. Here at mopeds.net, we want to give you the most accurate information about the history of mopeds, the current trends and models in mopeds, the best moped deals, and moped accessories. There is a wide range of moped information available here, and it will hopefully help clear up some confusion about what mopeds are, what mopeds can do, who sells mopeds, and most important, what mopeds aren’t. So if you are considering buying your first moped or you want to add to your moped collection, take the time to look through our different articles.
